  • New Board members share thoughts on JU and their new role


    Lena Johansson and Karin Sandén Ahlqvist have recently joined the Foundation Governing Board of the Jönköping University (JU), which is JU's highest decision-making body. Read more about the new members, their thoughts on JU and the work carried out by the Board.

  • Tailored course for study supervisors and mother tongue teachers

The municipality of Jönköping is working on targeted initiatives to enable multilingual pupils to better absorb the teaching in school. Part of this is a collaboration with the School of Education and Communication (HLK) at Jönköping University (JU) where study supervisors and mother tongue teachers have taken a custom-made course ‘Study guidance in mother tongue in theory and practice’.

  • Proposal to reject Jönköping University's application to award dentistry degrees


    In spring 2024, Jönköping University (JU) submitted an application to the Swedish government for the right to award dentistry degrees. The Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ) was asked to issue a statement and is now recommending that the government reject the application.Despite this setback, JU will continue to develop its Centre for Odontology and Oral Health (COO) in collaboration with Region Jönköping County and other partnering regions.

  • JU's quality system approved by UKÄ – quality assurance work continues


    In 2024, Jönköping University's (JU) quality assurance work was reviewed by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ). JU submitted a self-assessment in May 2024 and during November, UKÄ conducted interviews on site at JU. UKÄ have now published that JU's quality assurance work is approved with reservations for both education and research. This means that JU's quality system is approved and that there are parts that JU will continue to work on during the next two-year period.

  • Closing and graduation ceremonies at Jönköping University


    Isabella Bauer and Ebba Spehling On 5 June, the School of Health and Welfare and the School of Education and Communication (HLK) held their graduation ceremonies in Pingstkyrkan and Elmia. On the Swedish National Day, 6 June, the graduation ceremony for students at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) was held at Spira in Jönköping.See our big slideshow from all graduation ceremonies below!

  • JU students pitched ideas at Impact Demo Day


    On 3 June, students from Jönköping University (JU) presented business ideas with the potential to create real social change to a jury and audience in the final of Science Park's start-up programme. The first prize went to Mate Horvath, a student at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at JU, who has overcome cancer himself and has now developed the digital companion Oncoly, to help cancer patients and their loved ones.“I am so grateful to have taken my first step towards achieving my goal of helping as many patients in need as possible,” says Mate Horvath.

    Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) at Jönköping University has reached a significant new milestone. With its recent accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), the school now belongs to the exclusive group of just one per cent of business schools worldwide holding the prestigious Triple Crown status.
